FAKE A$$ CO-WORKERS

Have you ever had to deal with fake co-workers and if so what did you to do to handle the situation?

I have dealt with a few fake co-workers in my past. I'm the type of person to always give people the benefit of the doubt and in some cases (until I realize that certain actions become repetitious) defend them. My technique is to just completely ignore and avoid that person as much as possible because if I leave myself to be vulnerable to that person annoying me, I might snap and want to beat them over the head with a telephone. Bust his jaw for him... And these thoughts aren't healthy in a work environment.

First, you have to learn to place people where they belong. Trust is a big deal. Don't put high expectations on people that have no loyalty to you. Everyone is not your friend, and you should not put everyone in a friendship category just because you may share a couple beers after work. Learn boundaries. Drinks with coworkers after work every blue moon is cool. A coworker will not appear 'fake' until they have back stabbed you. Often times, a coworker may be competing with you for the same promotion or acknowledgement from a manager, in which you may start to see their true colors. My advice is to just learn boundaries. Don't assume everyone you may have a couple things in common with, or may attend happy hour with is your 'friend'. Keeping this in mind, I promise you... they won't seem fake. They will be just that, a coworker minus the expectation.
